A Day in the Life

sustainable skincare, quirky bookstores and a 10-seat Chef's Counter with Hayley o’byrne

A Day in the Life takes you into the everyday of local creatives and business owners as they show you the best of their city.

Hayley O'Byrne founded Carmel Floral in 2017, after deciding to marry her passion for botanicals with her experience in fashion and media. The florist practice focuses on tailored deliveries, weddings and botanical styling for editorial. We caught up with Hayley on her recent focus and her ideal day in Toronto.

2020 Focus.

“Initially, when weddings and crew-driven photoshoots were suddenly off the table for 2020, I decided to use the downtime to pivot to individual deliveries and research/development. Essentially being a one person show, I’ve always kept a loose business model to allow for personal growth and lateral moves into disciplines that interest me. So I'm continuing on that trajectory of learning, collaborating and experimenting.”
