A Day in the Life takes you into the everyday of local creatives and business owners as they show you the best of their city.

Khuyen Do, is a creative consultant & founder of The Debarrasseur who juggles a lot of titles and wears a lot of hats. Tackling things from PR to influencer strategy, events, content production, styling, and creative direction. She has a passion for food and enjoys making cakes on the side. Khuyen lives in the1st Arrondissement right by Palais Royale. Follow along as she shares her favourite spots to visit in Paris.

The Debarrasseur Backstory.

“I've worked in PR for luxury fashion brands and creative consulting for most of my life. I have however, always been a foodie, even if it’s only been in recent years that I found inspiration in food (in ways other than consuming it). I was inspired by the book the Visual Feast to start, “The Debarrasseur” which in French means to clear the table. The idea is to clear the table of boring status quo and replace it with more fun, non-traditional ideas. It’s gone through many reincarnations over the years, but I am currently working to launch it as an online concept store focused on food/food-related things in different contexts. During the pandemic, I also found inspiration in the kitschy cake aesthetics of the 60s and 70s, and the newer works of @eatnunchi that I decided to experiment in cake making, only to find an unexpected market and audience in Paris. We’ll see where it goes!”

"Hands down my fav coffee shop in Paris, not only for the taste but for the coziness and quality of people. There are always interesting and outgoing people there and they aren't afraid to talk to you (surprising for Paris), so it feels like home. I could spend an entire day here."

1:00 PM

Around lunch time she heads to Echo Paris to grab a bite to eat.

"Matthias is a good friend who manages to do his love for California justice, despite the French setting, by having an interesting menu that's not only fresh and local, but is fearless in terms of spice level and flavour pairings; that can occasionally be considered blasphemous for the French."

9:00 PM

Later at night she heads to Early June for dinner and wine.

"The owners, Camille and Victor, are also good friends who always find just the best chefs around the world to do insanely memorable residencies. And don't even get me started on their juicy wine program, featuring a lot of amazing natural wines."
